TOUCH CONTROLLER (HARDWARE)

16 Feb 2018

I used an Arduino UNO to create a skin-conductive performance interface for audio software. The copper tape on the side carries +5 Volts, and each of the six contacts on the top is a buffered analog input which the Arduino converts into a number. I plug the Arduino into my computer and use it to control a rudimentary Max/MSP patch. This interface was the beginning of my research into using touch as an expressive input for musical control. The example patch below is not indicative of the full capability of the interface, it for demostration purposes only.
